Alexander Smith

Alexander Smith has been studying the Martial Arts since 1993 joining the Goyararu Association at the age of 6 following in the footsteps of his father Paul, mother Lucy and brother Séan. After that Association splintered in 1994, Smithgained his first Blackbelt under the direct authority of Mr BS Dhaliwal.

Smith's thirst for knowledge has led him to experience many styles over the years including; Karate, Fencing, Kickboxing, Jiu JitsuEskrima and Aikido, which he has studied under some of the most respected instructors in Europe.

Smith's academic studies in Education Practice have also enriched his philosophies and he regularly draws on the work of psychologists, sociologists and educationalist theorists in his teaching.
Smith studied at the International Centre for Sports History and Culture researching  the history and development of Martial Arts and Combat Styles.

Séan Smith

Séan Smith began Martial Arts training in 1991 at the age of 7.

Séan’s classes are often enriched with scientific explanations of technique drawn from his intimate studies of Physics and Astrophysics while his experience in Parkour (Free Running) brings a gymnastic element to his classes. 

Séan's experience in Martial Arts include training in Boxing and Freestyle (Western) Martial Arts.

Guest Instructors

Due to the open and expansive nature of the Society, we are regularly visited by students and guest instructors from other styles and art forms. Many of these are specialists in specific areas such as meditation, fitness, conditioning, yoga or gymnastics, and allow our students to explore the greater experiences of Martial Arts and movement in general.
